feature request: content search report that shows files not successfully searched via IFilter

When performing a Contents search, a user can use IFilters to ensure that a particular filetype is searched.

When there is no installed IFilter for a particular complex filetype (ex: .pdf), currently the Content search appears to complete successfully, but simply does not show the expected results.

Some users happen to notice (ex: "hey, I know the word *brussels* is in some of those .pdf documents but they didn't appear in the search results!"). These users then try to solve the specific problem for that specific filetype.

But what if a user is searching a large volume of data (thousands of files) of multiple filetypes the contents of which the user is not very familiar with? The search will appear to complete successfully, but the user really has know way to determine which files were "skipped" because there was no relevant IFIlter available.

After a search, XYplorer currently displays a mini-report like: "Search done in 45 s (scanned 890 files and 250 folders)".

Could the report also include something like "34 files skipped due to missing IFIlters" or similar so that the user knows some files' contents were not included in the search? At least then the user would know some results are missing and could then troubleshoot.

Not totally useless. I'll consider it.

Not totally useless indeed. Thank-you for adding it. What would be extremely helpful, in tracking down problems, would be a log file, listing the problem files. (couldn't find a kiss up smiley)

The problem files are actually listed in the find report that you get via Info Panel [F12] / Report / Current List while the search results are showing.
