MS $recycle.bin vs XY Recycle Bin

I am just a casual user of XYplorer and definitely not a "power" user.
I just want to see my deleted files and permanently delete them or possibly restore them in my own time. But it seems the files in the XY folder Recycle Bin is being deleted daily? Tried to look at the MS $recycle.bin folder but no files. I looked around in Help and see that there are 2 kinds of folders and that XY is better. I get all that.
Do I have some kind of Config thing going on, that causes daily deletions?
does this have anything to do with drive Recovery(G:) that is full? or what is that drive?
is there some kind of previous post or FAQ somewhere that explains it all?
just upgraded to ver 24.20.0500
Thanks in advance for your help.

Daily deletions??? No. Which files from which location are you talking about?

I have some test files that I deleted with XYp. They are still in the Recycle Bin folder, the non MS folder. Still there today.
I delete files (send to Recycle Bin) on a daily basis but a week ago, I looked to Restore some files and found the Recycle Bin folder was empty. I didn't explicitly clear the Recycle Bin, so some other action must have deleted them permanently. What is it? Not the first time this has happened.
Thanks in advance for help.

I don't know what did it, but I know that XY does not empty your RB by itself.

In Windows 10+ the Storage Sense feature can be set to automatically empty the recycle bin on a schedule, or when a drive is full, perhaps you have that enabled.

Windows Settings | System | Storage > Configure Storage Sense

thanks for the responses.
My test files that I put in Recycle Bin were gone again, this morning.
I found the culprit: Norton 360 >>> Ultimate Utilities >>> Automatic Cleaning thing. Turned that all off.
I consider this post closed and thanks again.
