copy and paste from XYplorer to Win Explorer

Post by TMProjection »

Hey, when i CTRL + C from XYxplorer
I cant seem to CTRL + V into Windows Explorer
But if i right click on a file / selection in XYplorer > copy
i can paste fine in Win explorer

Am i missing something?
I do have custom copy enabled in xyplorer, is it something to do with that?

It's probably a clipboard manager you have installed, you could try this setting though:

Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | Drag and Drop | Extended compatibility for clipboard and drag and drop

nope im using stock windows 10, and xyplorer clipboards
nothing external

actually i think i know what my issue is

im trying to copy and paste using
ctrl + c from xyplorer
to windows explorer ctrl + v, but to a mobile phone internal storage, Samgung S23 Ultra
which is in data transfer mode

because when i just tried from xyplorer to win explorer desktop, it worked fine, but not to mobile phone

any ideas?

nothing at all, computer doesnt respond, neither xyplorer or win explorer does anything,
when i ctrl + c from xyplorer to win explorer mobile device in data transfer mode with ctrl + v (ie s23 ultra)

however if i right click in xyplorer on a folder > copy
and ctrl + v in windows explorer mobile device ie s23 ultra, it works fine

Just curious... does it work that way if you don't use XYplorer?

Because it looks like copying that way (CTRL-C, CTRL-V) might not work at all if you try to copy to your smartphone.
I think the windows integration of those types of external storage (i.e. smartphones in data transfer mode) are not working perfectly.
I had issues with my smartphones (different problems) as well and had to circumvent the issues I had by simply doing it a different way.

So, in your case:
I'm not sure if you can use CTRL-C, CTRL-V to copy to your smartphone.
You might have to go with drag-drop or right-click-copy instead.

Did you try this setting suggested by jupe?

ctrl + c from windows explorer
ctrl + v to windows explorer phone device ie s23 ultra
works

but from xyplorer to windows explorer didnt

i enabled
Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | Drag and Drop | Extended compatibility for clipboard and drag and drop
restarted xyplorer

actually works now :D, i think on my previous testing i didnt restart xyplorer, perhaps thats why it didnt work first time on testing that
