add tag for each folder

Post by Mathias »

Good afternoon.

I am in the evaluation period of the software.

We have a folder with over 20,000 subfolders, segmented by customers. Example:
CUSTOMER_000001
CUSTOMER_000002
CUSTOMER_000003
.....
CUSTOMER_020000

The custom columns I've already created, but I need to add tags for folder columns. How do I do it?

Could you provide me with a step-by-step?

No idea why you posted this in the bug report section, anyway there are many different ways to achieve your goal, here is one:

Navigate to the root folder of your CUSTOMER folders.
With nothing selected right click the Branch View toolbar button (4 white squares, looks like a window)
Select Folders Only from context menu.
Select the relevant folders. (you may also press Ctrl+M and enter CUSTOMER_ as pattern)
Tags | Tags | Add Tags menu item, or tag from your existing columns context menu.

Sorry for adding the question in the wrong directory.

Please take a look at the attached image.
I will try to explain here.

I have an .xlsx file that fills in the columns I need, referring to each customer.

Column 1 - Company Name/ Name - Customer Name
Column 2 - Town
Column 3 - State

I need to organize each column according to the columns above.

The tag I am referring to refers to the data of each custom column and not the characters for the Tags column (Menu Tag/Tag, Add Tag)

I think someone else will need to help you, I don't think I understand you completely.

But if what you are asking is that you want to convert data from a spreadsheet into XY columns, you will need to script it, using XY's scripting language, not possible via GUI. You'd need to convert the xlsx to csv, and read that in, then tag your columns with the data, from your screenshot I can't tell if you even have created "Custom" columns as you call them, or "Extra" columns, which have different abilities, and a lot of the terms you are using mean different things in XY.

You probably need paid help here, and since you appear to be working for a company, that should not be a problem.

Correct, I'm testing to see if the software meets these requirements that I need.

Is it illegal to ask this question before purchasing the license?
