Autofit the width of the Name column - Doesn't seem to work

Post by ldiebel »

The behavior I want is to show the full file names (as if I pressed Ctl-Num+) by default.

In the configuration "Colors and Styles" I found "Autofit the width of the Name column" and I've played around with the min/max values.
Also tried various values in "Autosize columns maximum width", "Autosize Name column minimum width" and "Autosize Name column right margin".
So far no joy.

I'm using list view, so there are no other columns.

Pressing Ctl-Num+ always does what I want, but I would like so see the full file name without the key press.

Any help is appreciated.

You're on the wrong track. :)

Try this: Tools | Customize List | Autosize Columns

Actually I think this very feature just got broken between 24.20.0 and 24.20.0100.

When I update I see shortened names, even with AutoSize enabled. When I downgrade to 24.20 everything appears to work like before.

Can you toss me some more bones? For example a better description text and a screenshot?

Sure.

On Version 24.20.0100 using list view even with "Tools | Customize List | Autosize Columns" enabled sometimes looks like this:

Note the 3 dots in the middle and there are some letters being cut.

Ok lets try more precise steps:

1. Download https://www.xyplorer.com/download/xyplo ... nstall.zip
2. Unpack & Run
4. In the top panel switch to List view
3. Make a folder with this exact name "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxxaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
4. The folder is displayed like this

5. Enable "Tools | Customize List | Autosize Columns"

=> The folder is still shown as, while it shouldn't

Confirmed. Two pixels too narrow. This is a pretty recent issue. Let's see if I can fix it...
