Hi and welcome to XYplorer,

Holding ctrl+ selecting files works for me. Have you checked the option "Multiple select" from Menu "View> List style"?

It would be useful to know the XY version and OS you are using.

As well as the View you are using (Details, Thumbnails, List, etc.)?

Also, you do mean clicking directly on the items, not using the selection rectangle (click & drag), correct?

@Qwerty, yes U are rite

Oh yeah, there are 2 more questions to ask

1. How can I change the font ? except using ctrl+scrollwheel

2. How can I change the space between files at the horizontal row ?

Thanks

1. View>Font> Tree, list, catalog ...

2. See Wiki.

yes, multipel select using drag and drop does not work. version 7.0.0

Is this the last/latest free version of XY, or why would you use such an old version, if most of us are using the current 7.60.0037 beta?
So, if you're really on that version, you might not have most of the functionality we are talking about in the forums and some tips you get might not work in a version that far back...

Multiple selections with the selection rectangle is a bit of an odd case.

Don has it implemented and working on the Detail views, but he unfortunately hasn't added it for the other views.

I suppose my wording wasn't clear. I mean multiple selections, not selecting multiple items. The selection rectangle works, but you can't use modifiers with it in the other views. You can use it to make a selection but you can't use it to adjust the current selection.

Or at least I've never been able to do so.
