[SOLVED] Separate configuration of Tab Captions and in Tab List

Post by matewo »

Hi all,

currently, I can configure tab captions: full path, folder only, custom. The same caption is also used for the tab list drop down.

As I am used to have many tabs open, I have set captions to Custom - "<drive>: <folder>". This is fine for the tab captions, as more info could not be displayed but is shortened by "...".

For the tab list, usually much more horizontally "space" is available. So, for example, the complete path could be displayed. But I did not find any option to configure this separately from the tab captions.

So I would like to configure captions in the tab list separately.

Thanks and best regards, Markus

Code: Select all

v22.80.0002 - 2022-02-04 17:10
    * Go | Tablist...: Now the full path (in square brackets) is not shown anymore in the
tab list by default. Too much information. Instead the full path is now shown in the
status bar when you hover the popup menu items.
If you need it the old way you can opt in via a tweak:
        TabListShowFullPath=1

Would it be possible to create some visual improvements with this tweak on? I think here the problem is not the too much information but the lack of visual distinction.

Anything could work for me. Italic (I am not sure about that, should see it first) or rather coloring (like dark blue) and definitely with more space between the caption and full path.
I would put the dash between the caption and fullpath, similarly to the number and caption.
Or you can try the order Caption - Number - Fullpath
I am just brainstorming.

Are you talking about the menu or what?

Tab List menu. I use the tweak equal to 3. (So practically as it was before the tweak.)

No plans to change anything here. It's perfect. :)
