How to get rid of the '+' sign next to folders when no subfolders present?
How to get rid of the '+' sign next to folders when no subfolders present?
For some odd reason, when browsing folders, regardless of whether that folder contains any subfolders or not, it will always have a '+' sign to its left to expand it?
I would prefer to have the Windows Explorer behavior where, if the folder doesn't contain any subfolder, you won't see a '+' sign to expand it.
I imagine there is somewhere a setting to change it to mimic this behavior?
Thanks in advance!

Tick Configuration | General | Tree and List | Tree | Check existence of subfolders in tree.

Check the option for "Check existence of subfolders in tree" in Configuration > General > Tree and List will do what you want but will probably slow things down slightly.

Hmm...maybe not so perfect after all .
At every start up, it has to check every folder, which lasts a few minutes and makes a hell of a noise on my hard drive and disrupts using XY until finished.
I can see myself disabling it because it's going to get annoying very quickly I'm afraid .
Thanks anyway!

I...don't know? I'm not even sure what is a 'tree'? I have a 10TB hard drive sitting on my desk, that's the one making all the noise for +- 2 minutes.

After startup run this to find out what's going on:
Code: Select all
text <get loadtimes>;

when you say 'run this', can you elaborate? How/where do I do that exactly?
Re: How to get rid of the '+' sign next to folders when no subfolders present?
Address Bar, script assigned to a catalog entry (see below):
or any other way you can run a script command in XY.Ralph

Re: How to get rid of the '+' sign next to folders when no subfolders present?
You can run this via:
- in the address bar (where your path is displayed), just enter "::text <get loadtimes>;" (without quotation marks)
- menu Scripting - Run Script..., just enter "text <get loadtimes>;"

Ok, thanks! Finally got it...not sure I've learned anything new though?
As I said, I see it scans my hard drives and I get roughly 88 seconds in total.

Well...I'd rather not. It shows a lot of private info.
