XYplorer runs (in the background) but does not show

This morning for reasons unknown XYplorer hung. I killed the application but since then it cannot open anymore. I was not running the latest version but probably a version from 2 months ago. At the moment starting the app will not have any visible effect but I can see in task manager that the program is running - in fact doing it again will have two applications both running with only about 10mb of memory being used, no cpu or disk usage.
I already rebooted thinking this would clear the issue but no luck. I suppose I can either install the latest version on top or uninstall the current version and reinstall the latest version. I am ok with either but don't want to lose some my customisations. I don't have dozens of customisations but the ones I use, I really like and if I had to redo this, half of what I did before I have forgotten. Any suggestions?
Using win 10 / 64bit version.
edit: had to leave the office and shut down the pc again. This time after a reboot, xyplorer starts normally.

XY remembers the last window state.
So if you select the option "X hides to Taskbar" in preferences it will open hidden the next time if you use X to close it.
To fix this modify the shortcut in the taskbar which you use to start XY and use the /win=normal commandline parameter.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\XYplorer\XYplorer.exe" /win=normal

Julian,
I don't think it was "hidden" that way as going through all hidden windows did not show the instance at all. There was no way I could see the program running other than using task manager.
However, I think I figured out the cause of the problem and it's unrelated to XYplorer. I am working with networked drives and realised that if the network drive hangs, then my xyplorer instance will also hang if I try to access the other drive. Killing xyplorer may solve the problem or may end up in the situation I described. Once I realised that the networked drive was the culprit and fixed it, there was no problem for XYplorer.

I started having this same problem today; can't figure it out.
Can't launch XYPlorer after a restart, without reinstalling it each time.
I tried the ""C:\Program Files (x86)\XYplorer\XYplorer.exe" /win=normal" but same issue.
Each time I launch XYPlorer, there's another instance running in the Task Manager, but no visible instances of it running on the monitor, or when doing ALT+TAB or WIN+TAB.

While NO XY instance is running:
Rename your XY profile folder from
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer
into e.g.:
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\XYplorer_backup
Start it again...

Thanks Highend. I assume that after doing that, I should copy everything back to the new roaming folder?

As a starting point, only the XYplorer.ini file. If it still starts normally with that, piece by piece all other files / dirs (until it won't start again) => Last one copied = problem

Thank you; I'll work on that. In the meantime, here are Task Manager screenshots of when it works vs. when it doesn't. Does this shine any light on the problem?

Boy, this is tricky as I can't discover a pattern. The problem is that once it finally works, it keeps working until a reboot. And I can't figure out why it suddenly starts working. It seems that if I wait 10 - 15 minutes after a reboot, it will launch every time, sometimes sooner than that. Can't figure out why it hangs all of a sudden.

So after a lot of configuring, research, and testing, I think my primary issue may be fast boot. Here's what my testing has revealed:
Fast Boot - Disabled in Bios
Fast Boot - Disabled in Windows 11 Pro
Power Shutdown (hard boot) XYPlorer Load Time ~10 minutes
Power Restart (warm boot) XYPlorer Load Time ~10 minutes
Fast Boot - Disabled in Bios
Fast Boot - Enabled in Windows 11 Pro
Power Shutdown (hard boot) XYPlorer Load Time ~4 minutes
Power Restart (warm boot) XYPlorer Load Time 4 minutes 15 seconds
Fast Boot - Enabled in Bios
Fast Boot - Enabled in Windows 11 Pro
Power Shutdown (hard boot) XYPlorer Load Time 1 minute 6 seconds
Power Restart (warm boot) XYPlorer Load Time 1 minute 6 seconds
So I'm going to continue using Fastboot for a while, and see how things go. I honestly can't remember why I had disabled it; when I built this PC -- it was something to do with USB Hardware power... if I remember correctly.

It is interesting though, that if I reinstall XYPlorer immediately after rebooting, it launches instantly. Even when Fastboot is disabled on Windows and BIOS.
