Tree Network Folder Issue

Post by m48tx »

Starting somewhere after version 23.90.0000, the cached network servers no longer show under the Network tree folder. If I click on the Network tree folder, the cached servers show up in the list but if I click on the server name in the list an error message pops stating the server is not accessible. F5 will scan for servers and will place the server names under the Network tree folder as expected, but this is not remembered between sessions (all of the appropriate options are checked.) I noticed this when I upgraded to 23.90.0100. I have gone back to 23.90.0000. I own a lifetime license.

As usual, I likely have done something wrong or missed an option that needs to be set. Help, please.

The system is Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.2364. I hope these caps will provide the information you need. The "Location currently not available." message is displayed after clicking on server name in List.

Try this, what do you get (in 23.90 and in 23.90.0100)?
exist "\\Samba";

It's identical apart from the node not being in the tree. But why isn't it in the tree? Are you sure that your cached servers are still cached? Check Tools | List Management | Servers in Network Folder...

I have been switching back and forth between 23.90.0000 and 23.90.0101. I have not refreshed the server cache. 23.90.0000 works as expected 23.90.0101 does not. First attachment is 23.90.0000, second attachment is 23.90.0101. :veryconfused:

Just noticed ... after I display Servers in Network Folder and click OK, the tree is populated. :veryconfused: :veryconfused:

So it's auto-fixed?

Well, yes. When I start 23.90.0101, the network servers are not populated in the tree. After Tools | List Management | Servers in Network Folder... and click on OK, the servers appear in the tree and work as expected. If I click on Cancel, the servers are not populated in the tree.

Not sure who to blame. Maybe the blizzard?

Maybe that is it!

So, I broke the bank and this issue will stand? If so, I'll stick with 23.90.0000 and thank you so much for guiding me through this.

:?

I thought it works now in 23.90.0101?

Oops, I see where my "Well, yes." was not appropriate. No, it does not work. With 23.90.0101, I have to display the Server List and click OK to populate the tree. 23.90.0000 populates the tree as expected on startup.

My sincere apology for the confusion.

GOSH. I switched to Maxi Tree and now it see it too!

... got it, this is the culprit: easy to fix...

Code: Select all

v23.90.0007 - 2022-12-22 12:59
% Configuration | General | Tree and List | Tree | Check existence of subfolders in
tree: Experimentally the checking is now done *after* the main window is shown.

I only use the default tree/list setup. Is that considered the Maxi Tree?
