I suddenly find a need for a thumbs down forum smilie.

I do find the current one literally much more iconic.

How does it look/render at "small" icon sizes? Are there other sketches?

The current icon/logo is perfect. No need to change it.

I'll throw in another vote for the current XY icon, it's perfect the way it is.

Coming out of the grave to also give my thumbs over to the current icon. It's informative, unique, smooth, resizes well, and even looks good without the background.

It's actually one of the nicer icons out there, and if I'm being honest, its look is what peaked my interest into XY over your competitors. It made me think the program would be both modern and functional. Shapeless icons are all the rage.

How about XY superimposed with a sextant or compass - that is, XY shows/navigates the way.

In the task bar it's ok but in XYplorer's title bar I consider it hardly "readable" (which means a certain degree of distinction has gone).

Edit: the image used as the new forum logo seems to have retained some faint rim from presumably rendering transparency against a "bright" background.
