I've looked at it a long time ago but it didn't work nicely with XY at that time.

Atm it still has a few quirks, e.g. you can't scroll in XY's pane correctly it will keep the current previewed item visible but at least the <space> hotkey integration works nice now

The current version is _not_ free, you have to pay for it (12,18 $) but it works fine even for Office files without having Office installed (if you use the OIT plugin).
Even .msg / .eml is working and I really like e.g. *.md rendering (I'd never install the PowerToys nonsense for that stuff^^)

I was checking Seer out this morning. Which version were you guys recommending? I first installed the Store version and was having issues using any of my selected keys to view. I uninstalled that and then installed the Win 32 version without issues and seems to run fine. I noticed that the store version is currently on sale for $8.11, but when selecting the Win32 version and using Paypal there is no price reduction. I wonder if the supplied key for registering the store version also works on the Win32 version?
$12.49 -> $8.11
8 days remaining
SAVE $4.38

I'm using the extracted Win32 version (didn't install it). It's not portable though, it reads and writes values to the registry...

I've paid the full price for the Win32 version as well and the store version key shouldn't work for the Win32 version

Thanks highend. At $12.49, it's a very reasonable price even if I didn't end up using it much. I had emailed Seer to check on the registration question. No reply yet, but I figured why not in this case, since the store version didn't play nice with XYplorer, at least not for me.
Edit: I did go ahead and purchase Seer at the regular price.

The store version is slightly different due to Microsoft Store limitations and only supports Windows 10 and newer.
Seer supports Directory Opus and Everything tool (if Everything is not running as administrator).

How did you guys "integrate" seer with XY?

When XY is in foreground, I can bring up seers from the tray and quickly see XY's current file. Would be nice if instead of clicking the tray icon I could leave my hands on the kbd. But I've not yet seen a way to configure a global hotkey for seer...

<SPACE> gets redirected to the LiveFilter, so I'm looking for alternate methods...

Tick Configuration | Find and Filter | Filters & Type Ahead Find | Type Ahead Find | [ ] Skip single spaces
or experiment with AHK, Seer was made especially for <SPACE>...

Corey, the developer of Seer, informed me that the Microsoft Store version was updated and works now also with XYplorer. Corey sent me a redeem code for the Microsoft Store version in addition to the Win32 version which I purchased. During a quick test I did not notice any difference between Win32 version and Microsoft Store version.

Can we (people that bought the Win32 version recently) request that as well?

Corey replied that this possible and that you should send him a screenshot of your purchase.

Good tip, purchased. :)

The only "downside" is the need to put the plugin json descriptors into the plugin directories. I would rather like to keep them at one place (with different file names, of course) apart from the plugin folders. I will write a change request when I find the time.
