Refresh after move is slow.

Refresh after move is slow.
The folders involved are not particularly large - about 1-2K items in each. The refresh icon works instantly.
Any settings to check to improve moves? I do need to verify each and every move.

I am visually finding files in one folder or Firefox , or Chrome, and moving the selected files to a second folder.
These ‘moves’ are not always a sure thing so I need to visually confirm, image or other files, that the files have been moved.

Can not think of anything else that may be of help in understanding the problem – sorry.
The reason I think there may be a fix is that when I click ‘Refresh’ the response is instant.
In FF I may be using add-ons such as "Double-click Image Downloader" – same as others here.
