Context menu
It seems that there be something strange with the last releases, now if I click right on a file occurs at least 5 minutes to the context menu appears.
Could you check what's happened ? I use Directory Opus to and all seems to be normal

Your OS.
Your locale (East-Asian or not).
What files: all? On a specific drive?
Here everything works normal.

I just had a 10 second delay from right-click to context menu appearance... (local drive) -- this is fairly common after not using XY for an hour or so.
I often experience similar delays when switching to a tab that hasn't been used in quite some time... (3 to 20 second delay before files are shown...) For example, I just switched to a tab with 363 items and it took 9 seconds to display the files...
I haven't mentioned this previously (though I probably should have, knowing how Don likes to get these things solved quickly!), but since the issue was on the table, I figured I could add to the discussion....
A different drive took 3 seconds to pop the context menu immediately after the above operation, and a third drive was almost instant...
BTW, going back to the original tab/file after the above operation, the context menu was less than 1 second, so things get better, but the first time after a long time can take quite a while...

I changed something in v7.10.0011, but I'll have to take it back -- I just saw that certain items are missing from the context menu. I'd like to know anyway: Did it solve the delay issue?ferrarif1 wrote:I have Directory Opus installed Rel. 9.xxx delay is about 2 or 3 second, but Xyplorer since 3 o 4 weeks ago was the same, it happens something in the last releases

Downloaded 7.10.0011, installed, restarted...
First tab, 5 seconds for context menu on first file, about 3 on second file, almost instant on first file again.
Switched tabs, took about 5 seconds to display content of new tab, similar delays on displaying context menu...
I don't know if that is useful information or not...

No difference to 7.10.0010, or? But you did not have a problem anyway -- what you reported could be normal (or is Explorer any faster on your system?).avsfan wrote:Downloaded 7.10.0011, installed, restarted...

Well, I don't have a delay here, neither with tabs nor with context menu (I have an Athlon 4000+ 64 X2). Of course, with deeply nested folders on first access (not yet in OS file read cache) browsing takes a while, but this is the speed of your hard disk primarily, not of any software.avsfan wrote:Explorer seems to maybe be a bit faster, but not too much...
I was also wondering if the delay to display contents of a new tab is normal as well... seems reasonable if it has to rebuild each time, I suppose...

ferrarif1, I'm still waiting for your feedback. Let me explain better again:
My first row in the right windows of XY is # an I have the number of the file in the list. If I click right on the number context menu appear immediatly (Up - Back - Forward - View - Sort by ...ecc ecc.) If I click right on the file name context menu (mixed win explorer and XY) appears after about 3-5 minutes. Now if I play with Xyplorer setting something was changed, but appl. crash sometime.
Sorry about my english i hope that my feedback now is better.

Thank you. So my attempt to fix the delay did not bring anything useful. I'll turn it back to the state before v7.10.0011.ferrarif1 wrote:Let me explain better again:

At the moment I cannot help you on. It could be some 3rd party custom shell extension.
BTW, when you say "3-5 minutes" are you sure you do not mean "seconds"?
