It would be a setting for the GUI. Assign every tab that is focused a color and assign every tab that is not focussed a color.
Now they seems to be white resp. gray.

You can do this in Configuration / Interface Colors / Tab headers. But note: It only has an effect when you use the Visual Style "XYplorer Classic" (Configuration / Tabs).

Autoselect doesn't work

Ok. Got-it.
Btw, it doesn't autoselect actually, even after x mseconds.
I still need to click.

Auto-select happens when you drag files over a tab header.

Hmm, a new wish as I am common with the tabs of Firefox that are auto-opened....
