readurl() error

Hi
the following script displays an error "URL not found. Error #0."

Code: Select all

 text readurl("https://www.faststone.org/FSMaxViewDownload.htm");
I can access the URL with my web browser.
Does anyone know the reason of this error and/or if there is a workaround ?

Problem is, many if not most URLs still work fine
but other faststonesoft URLs generate the same error

I see the same issue here (Win8.1). Google HttpSendRequestW 12029 (sorry about "Error 0", the next version will show "Error 12029") to find that it's caused by lacking TLS 1.2 support in older Windows versions. There are ways to change that, but only a few websites are affected, so it's your choice. Anyway, it's nothing XYplorer can fix by itself.

Hi Don, thank you for investigating the issue.
And you're right, I tried on a w10 install... no error.
The thing is, it works with the browser :?
I guess I'll just have to wait until I finally upgrade my windows for some scripts to work again.
Thanks.

Can you please elaborate on the ways to change that?
I hope you don't mean to upgrade windows just to read a web page.. :biggrin:
