Ext and Attr colums in List (SOLVED)

In my hands at least, these two columns will not maintain their expanded status WITHIN a session. Thus for instance I expand the Attr column to show HSDJI but after changing to a different view and then back to C:\, it shows just HS...
If I restart XPlorer, the Attr column shows HSDJI again. Similarly with wpd (WordPerfect) in the Ext column. With other extensions and attributes, there is no issue since they 'fit' within the (apparently) default size of Ext and Attr.
In reading another post here I noticed "View - Folder View Settings - Save Folder View" - and that does it. I thought "Default Folder View" was the way to go but no matter I have it now.
