forum software troubles

Post by admin »

Hmmm, recently it happens quite often to me, that my own recent posts are marked as "new" while the new posts of others are marked "read" (= not marked). I rely on this marking system, so this bug (?) is pretty bad for me and recently made me miss a number of new threads!

Any ideas?

If I recall correctly phpBB should handle new posts based on the user's last login date. Maybe you changed something date/timezone related on your client/in your profile? (Just a shot at it.)

For me the marking of new posts only dissapeared when IE crashed and I had to log in again after restarting it, then all markings were gone, even the ones I hadn't even opened before, which I agree is a PITA...
