Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
With only a touchpad, you've lost. But the next beta will offer a keyboard shortcut at least.

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
For me scrolling isn't the way I expect to change toolbars.
Currently I do that with a button for Klownboys ToolbarCycle.xys.
For the new 2 XY standard toolbars I would prefer a simple hotkey.

Next beta:WirlyWirly wrote: ↑11 Feb 2022 17:55 A scroll wheel goes up and down, so cycling up and down between toolbars does seem more intuitive. +1 I didn't even know the toolbar could scroll left/right until this last update, and I don't think I'll use it since it'll be like re-arranging my toolbar all the time and having to find what I need.
Code: Select all
* Tools | Customize Toolbar | Options: When "Scrollable Toolbar" is OFF, you don't
need to hold down the SHIFT key to switch button sets by the wheel (assuming "Allow
Button Set Switching" is ON).

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
And for the ctb lovers up to 4 toolbars, erm button sets of course. #2 is the default toolbar set.
Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
And thanks Don for keeping the "save" button clean when switching toolbars and also thanks for not having to use the shift key when cycling toolbars when "scrollable toolbar" is off.

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
Perfect! Is it possible to switch to the address/tabs bar or something?...

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
I'm not sure if this is what Norn is after, but it would be great to be able to have the address bar associated with one toolbar and not another. For example, toolbar #2 has the address bar associated with it. It's a smaller toolbar with only the menu bar items on it and a few other buttons, it has the real estate for the AB. Whereas toolbar #1 is loaded with XY built-in buttons and CTBs and doesn't have that additional real estate.
This would be especially great for those that may not have the address bar showing all the time. So, by cycling toolbars you could also cycle to the address bar at the same time. I guess this would be a big wish.

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
Hmm, we already can save and load layouts. That should cover the wish.

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
Well, I'm not sure it's the same thing. With the suggestion, you could quickly change form TB#1 with an Address bar to TB#2 without AB, simply by CKS or scrolling. What you are saying, we'd have to save layouts one with AB and one without AB (which is simple), but layouts do not address having different toolbars. It would work if layouts expanded to:
ShowToolbar2= 1
ShowAddressbar=0
and another layout as:
ShowToolbar3= 1
ShowAddressbar=1
I like the other idea better, but this might have benefits too.

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
Another small thought:
I am not sure about other's, of course, but it would be nice if the button set switching via mouse wheel would not cycle.
It is kind of cumbersome to have to make sure to scroll the wheel only by one notch.
This is true for me, at least, with 2 TBs. Probably also with 3 or 4, I assume.
All in all, though, the feature feels better than I thought it would.

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
When 1st TB is active and I scroll down the 2nd TB becomes active. When I scroll down again, then the 1st becomes active again. This should not be, IMO. If the 2nd is active and I scroll down, nothing should happen. The 1st should only activate when I scroll up from the 2nd TB.

Re: Main Menu Toolbar Button
Is it not possible to get stackable toolbars, so you can see one on top of the other? As that seems as it would be the most requested.
