I would but currently on the next start of XY all 3 configured sizes are now showing thumbnails fine.

Don, thanks for staying on this. I had to bug out for a bit.

Here's what I just tried.
-installed 20.70.0017
-deleted all files from thumbnail database folder
-view thumbnails for pdf folder
-checked thumbnail database folder ... the XYThumbs.txt is present, but only the .dat2 file. The .dbits file is missing.
-view thumbnails for image folder ... the .dat2 and .dbits files are created as expected and thumbnails display.

Make any sense?

Problem is not gone. All I see is the PDF icon. No thumbnails.

I have reinstalled 20.70.0000 as it behaves like previous XY versions when it comes to PDF thumbnails.

Could it be that you have added PDF to the Configuration | Preview | Previewed Formats | Image Files category?

Ah, I checked and yes PDF is included in Image Files category.

I do not remember adding this entry. I can't think of a reason why I would have.

20.70.0000: I removed PDF from Image Files and had previously removed PDF from Preview as Thumbnail. Thumbnails still created as expected.

20.70.0019: I upgraded to this version and Thumbnails now created as expected.

You made a change somewhere after 20.70.0000 that does not like PDF in Image Files?

Yes, I mentioned the change here: viewtopic.php?p=195186#p195186 ("Preview as Thumbnail" should never affect anything with thumbnails, only with previews)

So this is solved now, good.
