I have been trying out XY for a few days now. Some superb help and scripting has been available from Highend in constructing a script to do something very specific - and it does! After years of trying to use music composition and performance software to manage sound and music files I came to the realisation that I needed a file manager with real teeth to end my organisational chaos.
So here is my review of XY:
Beautiful, functional, powerful, extendable, colourful, tags, labels, fast, flexible, magical, possibility-creating, fun, creatively-inspiring, portable, superbly documented, organisationally empowering - and now predictably random (thank you Highend). As a musician, this is my idea of technical talk!
The sign of good software is that it enables us to achieve a goal, and for myself, XY does that.
The forum is brilliant too!
So here is my review of XY:
