When XYplorer is default file manager, drives/directories should open in new tabs

Hello,

I hope this feature wish finds you well.

When shell integration is enabled, and XYplorer is the default file manager, I would like to see an option to have XYplorer open drives/directories from external applications in new tabs.

Right now what is happening for me is drives/directories opened by external applications (ex: Windows' default File Explorer, qBittorrent) will open in XYplorer, but they open in the most recently used tab, thus navigating away from whatever I was doing in that tab.

What I would like is for drives/directories opened by external applications to always open in new tabs inside XYplorer, instead of "taking over" my most recently used tab. If this is an option already, my apologies but I could not find it. If I'm in the middle of something in XYplorer, and an external application needs to open a directory, there's a good chance it's related to what I was doing in XYplorer, so to have my "active" tab taken over is a bit annoying. It would be a massive productivity improvement to not have that happen.

Cheers,
dizzy

That is a good point.

I don't know of a setting like that. Let's see what others say.
Until then, you could try to lock the current tab (Ctrl+L by default, but you can adjust the keyboard shortcuts).
Then it should not get overwritten.

PERFECT. That option gives me the behavior I was looking for. Thank you so much.

I have looked at that option but I didn't really understand it or its description.

Not sure if you close threads or mark them as addressed/resolved, but feel free to do so.
