Mp4 Video Previews

I am on Windows 10 KB4023057.
Some MP4 video previews play as desired, some other MP4 videos do not.
This video only shows a black screen in preview mode in XY but plays just fine in other media players.

I'm also having problems with MP4 files but in thumbnail creation. I'm using the thumbnail view and I get several of this message:

I can't send you the video files because they are private, I'm waiting to find this issue on other MP4 files so I can send a sample.
Well just as I was writing this I tried with other MP4 files and I encountered the same error:

To add to this, there has been also times (several, actually) where I have been previewing some files (hovering them) and XYplorer hang, I had to force close one of the dllhost.exe processes for XYplorer to respond and then show the preview without problems. This didn't happen before but it has been happening for the past versions (beta and stable).

After choosing in K-Lite Codec Pack configuration the "Thumbnail - Options - Use Microsoft thumbnailer for .mp4" option I stop getting those messages but for some MP4 files there is no thumbnail, hovering them says "Cannot decode".

Conc. those Overflow messages, the next beta will refine the messages to let me localize the problem more exactly.
Over here K-Lite Codec Pack handles your sample "Fabulous Secret Powers" without problems.

With K-Lite_Codec_Pack_1612_Basic
I have no problems to preview the file Fabulous Secret Powers.mp4
also the Thumbnail view shows without problems.
I didn't change anything in the K-Lite default settings.

Maybe is the K-Lite version? I'm using Mega 16.1.5.

Just sharing information about how to preview MP4 and other formats like MKV, MTS, and MOV within XYplorer.
I just formatted my computer and performed a Windows 10 clean install.
Although I could see thumbnails for MP4, MKV, MTS, and MOV, these formats couldn't be previewed by XYplorer out of the box.
Further codecs needed to be installed, as already discussed in some threads in this forum.
There are many bloated codec packs, which generally include, among other stuff, the LAVFilters.
Actually, installing directly just the LAVFilters (default options) is enough to preview the mentioned video formats in XYplorer.
LAVFilters is a open-source project, available in Github:
