when you want to move a file,a list of previously used paths shows ,how do you periodically clear that list(history).

Have you checked out the "List Management" feature within Tools?
Not sure if that's the answer you need, since there are so many ways of doing things in XY...

Tools>List management>Move/Copy/Backup to...
