Indeed! Looks like that Windows control refuses the color in the compiled app (Dark mode works differently, as you can tell from the slightly different shape of the checkboxes). This is nasty. I guess I either have to drop this little feature or somehow make it in another way. Ideas?

What about this: Make the whole "Name & Location" tab caption red! Then you also see it when that tab is not selected.

In my opinion, you should find a way to color "Invert" text somehow or remove this feature entirely. Coloring the tab caption is unclear. A user would ask "Why is it red?" or "What conditions (besides "Invert") could make the tab caption red?". Also we must take into account that "Invert" checkboxes exist on other tabs. Even "Not" checkbox (e.g. on "Date" tab) may be considered as "Invert".

But making the whole "Name & Location" tab caption red for all cases (not only for "Invert") is good idea. The red caption is more attractive and should be used instead of the blue one. Blue is very similar to black when looking in general. Honestly, sometimes I forgot to uncheck some filters (e.g. "Contents") because of this. I would like to see tab captions in more conspicuous color than blue.

I don't think it's good. You should remove it, really. As I mentioned earlier, XYplorer has a lot of "Invert" options. The search results is not "[Inverted]" on the whole. The "Invert" checkbox applies only to the search term.

It makes sense. This is a global invert that is not visible in the search term itself (opposite to "!" or /i).
