Expand 'Select last used subfolder' option to only work when moving up

Right now 'Configuration | General | Tree and List | List | Select last used subfolder' will remember and select opened folders when moving up or down a directory. This is a great feature when moving up a directory as I'll often want to track my location. But moving down a directory I find it rather distracting and don't really have a use for it. It would be great to have an option for it to only select folders on the way up, not when drilling down.
