Hi Don,

Just found that preview is not updated (remains on the same file) when moving the file list selection with keyboard arrow keys. Selection with mouse works fine.

Another thing: shouldn't the preview stop playing audio and video when I select another Info Panel tab or close the Info Panel? That is when "Play with panel down" option is NOT checked.

1) can't reproduce
2) that's a feature, it always has been like this and nobody ever complained (apart from the ones I have forgotten... )

Under what exact conditions does this fail for you? What type files? where is focus? etc? Because there has been times when I was sure that focus was on list and it wasn't, so arrows didn't do as expected.

H-m-m... Interesting. I wonder: is it something with my system?

Anyways, here is what I do and what happens:

• - I run XY. Current tab is My Documents, a text file is focused and selected.
  - I press Ctrl-Q. Info Panel shows, Preview tab is active, the content of the tab says "File is empty." (it is not, BTW). Focus is still on the filelist.
  - I press arrow keys. Filelist selection moves (statusbar changes), content of the preview tab still says "File is empty."
  - I click the same text file. Preview content changes to show this file. Focus is on the filelist.
  - I press arrow keys. Filelist selection moves (statusbar changes), content of the preview tab stays on the text file I clicked before.
  - I click image file. Preview changes to show the image.
  - So on: pressing arrow keys only change selection and statusbar, preview keeps showing that image.

Any ideas?

And does it do this for all TXT files (it's a ".TXT", right?) or just one particular one? Anything unusual about the file(s)?

I'm on 6.80.50 so not exactly same vers as yours...I'm a couple betas behind again..

Already here my experiecne is different. Mystery.

It does it for any file, no matter.

i'm having the exact same problem with the preview window: it doesn't update when i'm browsing through the list with the arrow keys.

i haven't reported yet because i'm not using the preview window a lot (at least not while browsing through the list with arrows keys).

I'm running 6.80.50 but it's like that on my system since i first used XY (~Sept.2007).

If there is anything i can do to track down the problem...

Funny thing: this problem disappeared while I was comparing the DLL list loaded by my XY to my friend's XY (he did not have this problem).

Now don't tell me I did not restart XY. I did, many times when I was writing pre-previous post.

The only thing I noticed is when the problem was there, my XY had 3 copies of the same msvbvm60.dll listed in Process Explorer. (I don't know how this is possible, they were same version from the same location). I can only speculate that one of the files selected in one of inactive tabs caused extra VB DLL to load and that prompted the problem. Weird.

Demic, Pagat, maybe it's something in your config... can you send me your XYplorer.ini file?

I will, when I stumble upon this again...

I'm using 11.6 and the exact same problem happens.
Anyone got the solution yet?
