NEW BUG !!!
I just updated to the latest XYplorer version 20.80.0300 and my .docx (Microsoft Word) files cannot be previewed anymore. It worked fine in the preceding version of XYplorer.
PLEASE FIX ASAP.

Hm, unlikely. Nothing was changed here. Which was your previous version?

My previous version was 20.80.0100. I could preview Microsoft Word files (.docx) properly there.
But in version 20.80.0300 these files only display as gibberish text and without any formatting.

By preview do you mean a WYSIWYG preview, or just the extracted text?

I mean WYSIWYG preview.
The .docx files used to display in the preview panel exactly as they would appear in Microsoft Word. I think XYplorer actually used the installed Microsoft Word to preview them, same as it utilizes Adobe Acrobat to preview .pdf files.

Well, then I can only repeat in wonder: Nothing was changed here.

Have you tested it yourself?
Please try to preview any .docx file with the latest version of XYplorer (20.80.0300) and see for yourself if it displays in the correct WYSIWYG form.
I can't believe this problem only happens on my computer. Has nobody else noticed it?

I am on Xyplorer 21.30 and cannot preview .docx or .xlsx files. I can preview .doc files but they display as plain text. I have Microsoft 365 installed.

Are these both enabled:
Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows | Use 64-bit preview handlers for preview
Configuration | Other | Shell Integration | 64-bit Windows | Fall back to preview handlers of the other bitness

I enabled both options, but they did not make any difference - no preview was displayed.
I then enabled "Use 64-bit IFilters for content search". Now I get a preview of .docx and .xlsx files but it is plain text. Should the preview look like it would in Office or is plain unformatted text all the preview is supposed to show?

Go to Configuration | Preview | Previewed Formats
and show two screenshots.
01. Categories: "Text Files" selected
and then in the lower pane all items beginning with "d"
02. Categories: "Office Files" selected
and then in the lower pane all items beginning with "d"
I have no problems with real previews (not only text but with formatting) with Office 365 installed
Not with v20.80.0100 and not with the current beta...
