XyPlorer v20.60.0206

Hi, can someone please help me understand the possible causes of XYPlorer freezing many second when clicking on Computer icon?

This happens only when I click Computer icon in the left tree.

Note that the left tree contains the very same items of the computer list pane, when it shows after many seconds when pressing the computer icon.

Also the startup times are more than acceptable.

What is strange is the fact that the freeze occours only when switching from any folder in the tree to the computer icon (the root of the tree.

Which other ways to go to the same location do not cause the freeze?

If I close XYPlorer when the Computer node on the three is selected and the list pane is populated with all the elements of the computer node, and then I re-launch XYPlorer, the startup times are fine.

The freeze happens only one time in a session: the very first time I switch from whatever node in the tree to the Computer node. Subsequent switches in, the same session, are fine aka without any freeze.

Does the tree contain network locations under "Network" (and Network is NOT collapsed) or e.g. mapped drive letters?

And what about your startup time and first click time when you tick "Configuration | General | Startup & Exit | Reconnect mapped network drives on startup"?

Clearing "Pre-check availability of servers" resolved it!
(Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Network | Pre-check availability of servers)

Gosh, looks like clearing "Pre-check availability of servers" is the solution to all problems recently. I probably should remove that checkbox...

For the sake of completeness here is my config:

(XYPlorer Pro v20.60.0206)

Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Network:

- [Checked] Fast network enumeration
- [Checked] Assume that servers are available
- [Unchecked] Pre-check availability of servers
- [Checked] Cache network servers

What if you do it like this? Just curious...

- [Checked] Cache network servers

Unchecking Fast network enumeration does not produce any noticeable effects: there are no noticeable freezes nor delays when clicking the Computer node in the tree.

With "Pre-check availability of servers" checked, right?

That's Win10?

2. I am windows 7 Pro

So the problem is having both "Pre-check availability of servers" AND "Fast network enumeration" checked, and maybe Win7. The latter is curious because I've had many cases where Win10 was the problem here whereas Win7 worked fine. Puuh, hard to draw any conclusions...
