Please add a "sort by random order" toolbar button with a dice icon. I know we can make one ourself, but it would be nice to have an official one right out of the box. It is already the only sorting option that has a default hotkey for it, so it deserves to have a toolbar button too. It will be the coolest thing since makecoffee;.

Give me some reasons why users might find this cool and I'll do it. I'm personally a big fan of randomness but it never felt like being part of the mainstream.

example, you have a folder of a music album and you are bored of the same predictable order of the songs, so you randomize it.

example, a random prize drawing, in which you make filenames of a bunch of people or numbers, and after you randomize it, the top of the list are winner(s).

You use XY as a music player?

i sometimes use XY as a music player, if i'm listening casually for a sort time. but i also bookmark a lot of music from youtube as .url files and listen that way too. and when the .url files are randomized, they open in the same random order in the web browser.

Next beta will have it.

the original red color is bland. but in photoshop, you can easily shift the hue to get a nice pleasant blue [-160] or magenta [-40]...

No no, I prefer the current one. It's maximally iconic.

the current 2D icon is more reminiscent of a domino than a dice.

a dice is a cube, so it needs the 3D view to make it iconic. that is why the majority of dice icons are represented in the 3D view...

Now that there is a dice button for "random order", can you make it even more fun and random? By making the dice icon change to one of the six faces every time it is clicked? It would really make the dice button come alive and be a really nice touch. Maybe even addictive. And it should be easy to do, given the simplicity of the icon.

can you also add an official "obfuscate" toolbar button with a ghost icon? it would go very well with the official dice button. together, they can make things even more random and surprising!
