if xyplorer runs with admin rights, the title bar should show that automatically without need extra configuration
like many other programs do

There's nothing that keeps you from adding this to your title bar template!

Hey Don, this is a trivial thing that is not so trivial. Could you add this just as part of xy's normal operation and not necessarily make it a variable that someone has to adjust?

Of course, they should always be able to override it, but as a previous poster said it's a standard thing with most applications.

BTW, where is the list of all the variables that can be used in this position?

OK. <get userrole> in the titlebar template Is fine and it works.

But now I'm going to get picky. Is there a way To only show the user role when it is admin and when its user just leave the userrole out?

Next beta:

IMHO, putting it at the far left side, that is, the beginning of the title bar is preferred. In left to right reading languages people would see that administrator indication first and frankly that's more important then the other information displayed on the title bar.

I don't know if it would make it more difficult in right to left reading languages but I can only opine on the one that I know

We all have our own way of working, but it's more important to me to see the path than to see the user/role.

If this were to implemented, perhaps it should be a tweak with 0 for leading and 1 for trailing. Or something like that.

Yes, Don is pretty good at implementing and fixing things.
But, two things I've learned in my long life of using software applications. Never tell a developer that something is easy to do. And never ask a developer when a feature (or release) will be available.

AMEN to that! in some 30 years of doing and teaching software design, there was never something that was "easy."

And two words that one should never use: temporary and permanent.

BTW, I was just having some fun. I haven't needled him in a while, so it was long overdue...

Don is a rarity in this world, and despite what I say, he is to be valued and respected. It's one thing to have great ideas, which he has. It's another thing to be able to effectuate them in code, which he does.
