I just installed XYPlorer, and noticed that the text in the main parts of the display was smaller than that used by Explorer and other programs I've tried. I played around with the dialog box to figure out what is the correct font to match, and found that the dialog box comes up with one point larger highlighted than is actually set. A similar problem occurred when it grabbed the initial settings from the Control Panel, as your dialog box stated "Tahoma 8" (correct) but was actually showing a size of 7!

If I pick a size, OK, then bring up the dialog box again, it now shows one size larger than what I picked.

Welcome to XYplorer forum. I tried your problem with tahoma font and other fonts but cannot replicate. I compared my fonts with notepad app and i cant see the difference. BTW, have you installed XYplorer or XYploereFree? Any special way to replicate your problem?
BTW you can use ctrl+mouse wheel scroll to change your font size quickly.

PS: I find your username quite unique.

Sounds like a rounding problem. But I cannot it see it here. Do you use any unusual display-settings? (e.g. "Large Fonts", > 100% scaling...)

The DPI setting is "Custom setting... 110% normal size (106 dpi)".

serendipity: It looks like my User Name is shown incorrectly in the left box of this forum, but is correct when in the message itself. ł is the syntax to specify a character code by number. Perhaps it is set to show all non-ASCII chars thusly, or there is a bug causing double-escaping the ampersand.

Ah yes, as I thought. Has your font size now "settled" to the value you want it to be, or are you forced to re-adjust it on every startup?

Yes, looks like this forum software does not support & #322; style character coding, at least not in most places. Sorry.

Oh I see. i thought apparently an evolving robot made it through the registration process and created a not so normal username. But since the question was perfectly genuine, i replied to your question. Sorry for the curiosity.

admin: I didn't actually type the ł syntax. I put the character in the blank when it asked for user name, just like any other letter.

It took it, showed it correctly, and works in messages where I see the phrase "JDługosz wrote:". Other forums I've joined either work without problem or reject it when signing up. I've not seen this problem elsewhere.

serendipity:I don't know what you meant about an evolving robot. Is that an insult? My last name is actually quite common—and famous—in Poland. Try a Google search on Długosz and you'll get over 58000 hits.

admin: Yes, it remembers the correct size when I start the program again.

I surely am NOT insulting you, sorry if it appeared like that. By evolving robots i meant some smart spammers who enter forums by smart means (breaking anti-robot security) and post strange stuff.
BTW, i hope you did not get offended, infact one of my best friend is from Warsaw.

Okay, I see. AFAIK there is no setting in the forum administration that allows me to fix this. And, as in some contexts your name is written correctly it's clearly a forum bug.
