Hello every one.I want to open a folder or document on single click because it often goes to rename the files when I click in a slow speed in double-click.(like windows explorer that can set single-click or double-click to open)
I saw and opend the setting"Single click on icon opens list items",but it isn't what I want.

That option is the only way for a single click to open a file / folder.
If you don't want the rename on slow double click, just disable it:
Menu - Tools - Customize List - [✖] Rename On Slow Double-Click

Thans for reply.I tick the setting"Single click on icon opens list items",but it doesn't work.It means that the folder or document can't be opened when I single click on them.

And you are clicking on the icon, not the file name?

oh,yes.I click on the file name so it can't be opened by single click.I thought clicking on the file name by single-click would open it before.
Thank you very much

Is it possible to open multiple files (for example .doc) simultaneously with the left mouse button with just one click or double click?
I can only get it with the right mouse button via the context menu or with Enter.

Afaik not by clicking on any of them or their icon.
Maybe a user defined button with a script would help (which would require only one click).
E.g. (untested!)
Code: Select all
foreach($item, <get SelectedItemsPathNames |>, , "e") {
if (exists($item) == 2) { continue; }
open $item, "w";
}

Many thanks for your help. The script works.
But I wanted to avoid another button.
Maybe it will eventually be possible. Until then I will use the button.

I think,
To open folders or documents with a single click, you can adjust your operating system's settings. In Windows, go to File Explorer, click on "View" in the menu, select "Options," go to the "General" tab, and choose "Single-click to open an item." On macOS, go to Finder, choose "Preferences," and under "General," select "Single click to open items." This streamlines navigation for quicker access.

You don't have any clue about the forum in which you are.
Why do you think your suggestion will work in XY, which has its own settings ?
I guess you are a spammer or KI.
