Hi! i read several threads about this option, and all the answers where about, copy a shortcut to startup folder or make a task in task scheduler, after all is basically a portable app,all i am asking is,could you please add an option in General -> Startup & Exit to start XY with windows that let the user tick or not and decide to enjoy this great feature (at least for me) i hope that this feature doesn't give you too much trouble Don and you could include this in a future release,i will gladly test it if you need, thanks!

Why does this seem to be such a problem?
Windows has provided ways to autostart applications for quite some time and they usually work, so what would a XY specific option to do such thing do any better?

As said, there are numerous ways to set any application to start with Windows. The simplest one is to copy a shortcut of the application in this folder:
Code: Select all
C:\Users\[your-username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
This has the advantage of:
- Being portable (you can copy-paste your shortcuts on any computer)
- Being backup-able (you can backup your shortcuts)
Then you can disable any application startup temporarily without deleting the shortcut:
- Pre-Windows 10:
Win+R → "msconfig" → Startup tab
- Windows 10: Task manager → Startup tab
