Find empty folders
Find empty folders
I see in the XYplorerFree comparison of features that the paid version has find empty folders. Where and how do you do this and is it not available in the free version?

I'm not really suregraham wrote:I see in the XYplorerFree comparison of features that the paid version has find empty folders. Where and how do you do this and is it not available in the free version?
So to list all empty folders on one location, you should start by searching for all folders (Attribute Directory), then have XY to Calculate Folder Size. All those with "-" in their size column will be totally empty folders (ie. no empty files or folders)

Yes, that's it. Not one-click, but does the job. With scripting it will be one-click...jacky wrote:I'm not really suregraham wrote:I see in the XYplorerFree comparison of features that the paid version has find empty folders. XYF cannot distinguish between empty folders and zero byte folders.

hmm... so scripting will allow to run searches using templates ? Sweet !admin wrote:Yes, that's it. Not one-click, but does the job. With scripting it will be one-click...
And I also seem to remember you mentioning a way to "get input" (throw an dialog asking for the user to type in something), will we be able to use such input within the loaded template ? (eg. ask user and use his input as the text to search within files, other criteria (names, location, etc) being loaded from a template ?)

You are right. I take it out.graham wrote:Thanks for the answers. I use a different program to do this but I think you are stretching it a bit to list this as a main feature upgrade facility.
