open folder in new tab

Was there is a trick to open a selected folder in new tab using keyboard? I often create folder (ctrl+n) and want to immediately go into that folder using keyboard. Out of intuition I used shift+enter (going by shift+click method to open tab). Would be great to have this little thing if it is not already there.

 , i could have simply created a UDC to open with XYplorer.exe. Now i know.

Oh, i just realised that there is little bug.
ctrl+n and enter doesnt take me inside the empty folder.
so probably your method of ctrl+t and enter doesnt work now. but however i have my own UDC (one keystroke) to "open with" XYplorer.exe and this works fine.

Works here. Needs 2 enter, because of rename mode.

Maybe you forgot to hit <Enter> after Ctrl+T...

BTW: I just found a way to crash XYplorer:
1. Double-click on a folder in the list.
2. Inside this folder double-click on empty space to "go up" where you started.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2, i. e. open the folder and "go up" again and again. If you are fast enough XYplorer crashes.

Yes, that was my question exactly. If I want to create a new folder and immediate go into it then i have to:
1) Ctrl+N
2) Enter (to exit rename mode)
3) Ctrl+T (new tab)
4) Enter (to enter the newly created folder)

I got rid of step 3 and 4 (suggested by Don) by using UDC "Open with" and adding XYplorer.exe in location field.
I initially had imagined there was a way to enter a new folder with a keyboard trick, but there wasnt any.

Can't crash here. Any other relevant conditions maybe?

So, here is what I found out:

1. I start with a list of 2 folders "a" and "b" which are empty.
2. I double-click on "a" > "a" opens > I double-click on empty space (don't move the mouse too much) > XY switches to rename mode (although there is no file existing)
3. If there are only two folders it seems not to be possible to crash XY.

4. I create a folder "c", so now there are the folders "a", "b" and "c".
5. I double-click on "a" and later inside the folder on empty space > again no crash, only rename mode
6. I double-click on "b" or "c" and later inside the folder on empty space (sometimes you have to repeat these steps) > crash

Yep, after some practice I crashed it. And fixed it. Nice bug. Thanks! :)

My point was that Ctrl+T open a new tab FULL STOP, regardless of whether you are in the tree or the list. Enter has nothing to do with opening the new tab, Enter opens the focused folder.

What I want is to open the focused folder in a new tab with a single keystroke.

Yes, it's not easy to crash XY, but I always try my best.
admin wrote:List: app could crash after some repetitive alternate dbl-clicking on items and white space in a certain evil rhythmic pattern that resounded with the system dbl-click time and some other settings. Quite difficult to do. And now even more difficult since it's fixed.
Maybe more difficult, but not impossible:

1. The same as above with the three folders "a", "b" and "c". But now there is a folder "d" inside the folder "c".
2. I double-click on "c" (the name, not the icon) and later inside the folder on empty space > crash

FULL STOP? It's 2 keystrokes: (1) Ctrl+T; (2) Enter.
