I am running version 19.50, but the same problem happened in the previous version. I have unchecked Enable Color Filters, but starting in the last few days, the recently used folders and files have a dark green background color. Enabling the color filter and changing the background color to white does not work. How do I get rid of the background colors?

You might have inadvertently toggled the Instant Color Filter. There is a toolbar button for this. Look for a yellow paint roll...
