Help! Grey file detail box has eaten my entire screen!

Help! Grey file detail box has eaten my entire screen!

I have no idea how this happened, but first a big grey section that conmtains details about whatever folder you are in ate a third of my page, and then it ate almost all of it! How do I get back to a normal view?

You probably clicked in the status bar at the bottom of XY - that opens/closes the Info panel.

Double clicking on the splitter between the Info panel and the main screen minimises/maximises the Info panel.

"Window | Show Info panel" - F12 or Alt+F12 (Last size/Minimise) or Shift+F12 (Maximise/Minimise).

Incidentally, Donald, Should "Show Info Panel" (F12) not be "Show/Hide Info Panel" to be strictly correct?

No, because it's one of those 'checkmark' type options, so when it's not checked, it's defined to be "off"...same as the other ones in that same grouping..
Still spending WAY TOO much time here! But it's such a pleasure helping XY be a treasure!
(XP on laptop with touchpad and thus NO mouse!) Using latest beta vers when possible.

In my first days with XYplorer I didn't know that clicking on the Status Bar shows/hides the Info Panel. So whenever clicking accidently on the Status Bar I never knew what triggered the opening of the Status Bar. If you get used to it it's really great! :wink:

Might be a good idea to make this optional -- it's really a bit unconventional...
