How about incorporating a delete function in UDC. This could allow for routine 'clean up' situations where the Catalog could be used to contain items which are to be deleted. The delete option could include secure or recycle bin or an zipped archive. As an alternative to the Catalog, maybe a List managed file. This has the advantage of preventing accidental deletion of other Catalog items by mistake.

Hm, rather not. Looks like very singular use cases. Does not deserve such a general interface IMO. Is a typical job for a script. Oh yeah, scripting will answer many questions...
