Preview doesn't play audio files anymore

Help. Since about a month (didn't have the time for problem solving earlier on) the preview window doesn't play audio files anymore when selected.
The progress bar is running normally, and the volume is up (both in the preview window as main windows vol.), I don't have any other audio problems, everything else works just fine.
I don't have sticky selection enabled.
XYplorer version 19.20.0000 (but it also failed in 19.10.0200)

Anyone?

Thanks,
Best,
Arnoud

Open up Windows volume mixer and check if XY is muted.

Does it work in a fresh instance?
Which OS?
Any installed audio codecs?
What does

Code: Select all

text get("previewhandler", "<the extension of one of the files that doesn't play anymore>");
display?

Hi, what do you mean with fresh instance? Do you mean a clean install (instead of an auto-) upgrade?
OS is win 10 Pro 64 bit
How do I check the audio codecs?
And I don't understand your last input "Code: Select All..." What is that/how do I run that?

Thanks,
Arnoud

Btw, I díd install Mixcraft 8.1 (Acoustica) about 5 days ago but am not totally sure if the problem already existed before that install, if I remember correctly, the preview problem already was there before.

It got fixed!!

When checking my Realtek high def audio driver settings, somewhere along the way, a Windows popup saying "sound effects have been disabled for this device because it caused problems" (translated from Dutch). I activated these effects again, and now audio preview works as before. Sweet!

Thanks for the suggestions,
Best,
Arnoud
