XYplorer Beta Club

When I select some exe file (i.e. click on such file using the mouse or press Up/Down arrows on keyboard until this file becomes selected) - XYplorer takes some noticable time to think. I.e. it freeze for about 2 seconds. It doesn't happen with non-exe files. For example:

• 150 MB Photoshop files - no delay
• 30 KB exe file (PureText.exe - simple 1-file utility which doesn't require installation) - delay about 2 seconds.

I already have "Use generic icons..." enabled. However, it doesn't fix these delays.

What is the reason of it and is there any way to fix it? Cheers.

Sounds very much like a virus scanner interfering.
Did you exclude XY from its scrutiny? If not, please do so and it will speed up things considerably.

Thank you! Yes, it seems it was an issue with virus scanner - Kaspersky Internet Security 2017.

For people, who faced with the same issue here is how to fix it:

In Kaspersky Internet Security 2017:

Settings > Additional > Threats and Exclusions > Specify trusted applications > Add XYplorer.exe and enable first checkbox ("Don't scan opened files" - or something similar, because I use non-English version).

While excluding XYplorer.exe will certainly have the biggest impact, you might want to add XYcopy.exe and ContextMenu64.exe to that exclusion list as well.
