File Sizes Column Auto Refresh Override for rename and switching tab

I usually have file/folder sizes turned off for performance sake, but many folders I often manually populate the column with a shortcut. After that I usually do 1 of three things:
rename a folder
switch to another tab real quick and then back
move a folder using Move To list popup
Its real frustrating because whenever I do one of these actions, I have to repopulate the folder sizes again. An option to override this without relying on the folder sizes cache somehow would be fantastic. A feature to have folder sizes cached on/off per folder would be great also.
