Preview Now

+ Preview: added "Preview Now" button to the Preview tab, visible if
"File type excluded from preview in configuration." Click it to
immediately preview the focused file (regardless of the settings in
Configuration | Previewed Formats).
Set .mp3 to be exclude. On selecting an .mp3 file Preview Now button appeared and selected - played file until stopped at end - then on selecting another .mp3 file no preview available. Change folder to select any other ticked preview formats - unable to preview as .mp3 preview persists.

Maybe you should also mention that 'Automatically show non-previewed file types in ASCII/Hex mode' should be checked OFF in previewed formats section of config. I was wondering why it was not working for me. Now I know.

Yeah, it took time to settle down here and missing Deutschland.
Anyway, I have JC's and others company to discuss XY development when you guys are sleeping.
Especially the two licences i have now which needs to be given away for free to the deserving winner. I will make a new thread regarding this.

I read the change log and was a bit puzzled, as it seemed to me to be contradictory in the "( )" part...because if file is defined as previewable in config, then the "Preview Now" won't appear, right? So how can it be "regardless of settings"?
Am I missing something obvious here?

This also caused me a problem, and I determined that only way that I could see to have quick mouse (NOT keyboard, i.e. Cntl+Q) access to trigger preview while still having 'Auto=Raw' was to add the Preview icon to toolbar (which is getting a bit full, in my case)...so...could there be a way that this "Preview Now" button ability could be available in this config setup?
Maybe next to the orange menu and above the file stats box/area?
It'd also be nice to have some clue that file type is not checked in config even when using the raw as preview combination...if the "Preview Now" button appeared in the above suggested place as needed, that would suffice, I think.
Addendum: This maybe isn't a bug but...when I have a file type that is defined as previewable, why shouldn't I be able to use the Preview icon or Cntl-Q to turn off the preview and have a 'null' type tab, so that I can still keep the file selected yet release it from the viewing application, such as Excel?

Probably my English. With regardless I meant that you can
preview it although in Configuration you
excluded it from preview.

Ok...in that case, the "( )" text is redundant as you've already essentially stated that same thing in prior sentence, so having it as currently written makes it in conflict, so I'd suggest removing the "( )" part...if you do, I'll update blog to match.
BTW, did you see my Addendum written around same time you were replying?

Yeah, I read it. In priniciple a useful thing, but would take too much time now. I have to finish UDC...

Oh, I definitely agree that UDC is much more important, so I won't mind waiting...it's an issue that I've lived with for quite a while, but it was the addition of the "Preview Now" button that caused me to re-address it.
And being able to UN-preview a file by either keyboard/icon is more important than having the Preview Now button available...

Tried out 6.40.0020 and see that I can now un-preview a file, which is a good thing! Thanks!
However, one very minor item remains: When one sets/resets the config option to "Auto preview in Raw", the current file's Preview display is not updated to reflect that change, and one has to select another tab and return to see effect.
An example: Have Auto=Raw on; be on Preview tab; select an EXE file; turn Auto=Raw off; Preview stays in Raw unless one goes to Raw View tab and then back again...with other combinations, going to other tabs will cause proper update.
