I want to sort insider a folder by name only, I do not want the files to get separated, is this possible? Thanks for your help!

I don't think I understand the question, to sort the list pane by name just use this menu item:

View | Sort By | Name

or alternatively click the Name column header to achieve the same result, the files shouldn't be separated in any way. Could you explain your query more clearly if the above suggestion doesn't resolve it?

Jupe, when sorting by name the files are always kept together in a group and sorted. I want all the contents to be sorted by name with no grouping that automatically happens.

I know what you are talking about is possible in Windows Explorer but as far as I know XY doesn't do this, so I guess I am still misunderstanding you, hopefully someone else understands and can help you.

Here is how it is disabled in Windows Explorer via the context menu:

Or maybe you just mean this option, in XY: Configuration | General | Sort and Rename | Sort | Sort filenames by base

Or maybe you mean you want folders to be sorted with files, not separately:
Configuration | General | Sort and Rename | Sort | Sort folders apart
