Highlight row on hover

Now that 'Hover on select' has been implemented, would it be possible to also add some sort of 'Highlight on hover'?
How it would work is: the row under the cursor is 'highlighted' (custom color, usually a slight variation of the normal background color). It is not 'selected' nor 'focused', but simply highlighted so that you can follow down a long (and wide) list of files sort of like you would with a ruler on a ledger.
