Always loosing a pair of certain settings

Hi,
since a very long time I observe that I always "loose" the following two settings
Tree and List | Show hidden files and folders [x]
Tree and List | Show system files and folders [x]
It's just a matter of days.
I thought I have checked all situations coming to mind (explicit saving of settings etc.). Any idea, what can cause this weird loss, and why only these 2 settings are affected?
