Search by multiple catalog categories

I have tagged my files and want to search by tag using the catalog.

If I have one category in my catalog with all my tags, it works. However, since I have a lot of tags and want to make a distinction between tags by using categories I can't seem to filter correctly. I was wondering if this was possible at all or if anyone had any other solution other than putting all tags in one category.

I have attached two .gif files as an example.
