How to make filenames appear without file extensions?

Dear all

I'm new to XYplorer and to this board. (And why is the board named as it is? I am not using a beta but rather the latest release version.)

I'm talking about the extension shown on the left, in the filename field. I am not talking about the column for the file extension. My point is that, since we have the column, and since having an extension in the name field makes (most) renaming harder, why can't we turn off the extension in the name field? Or can we already? (I can't see where, but there are many options.)

It is possible already via,

Tools Menu | Customize List | Hide Extensions

My advice to new users is to use the Help Menu | List All Commands, which it is a searchable list of all the menu options.

Most of the discussions here are about future developments (new features or bug fixes) and will first appear in a beta version.

Ah, thanks. I was surprised that those options were not in the 'settings' menu.
