Pause file search OR enable background search

Is there a way to pause a file search? I'm searching a large network file structure for files by name - it can take 20 minutes or so, but while that's happening I basically cannot use XYPlorer. If I click on another tab and later come back to the search tab it starts all over again from the beginning. So, it would be great if searches could continue to run in the background whilst I get on with other XY tasks, but failing that if I could just pause the search in a tab; do other stuff in another tab then come back and resume the search on the first tab.

That's not possible, but you can simply start a second instance to continue working:
Tick these two:
Configuration | Startup & Exit | Allow multiple instances
Configuration > Startup & Exit > Open new instance always

I can put a copy of XYplorer_2.exe in the XY folder and run it. Will work.
The question is how to run XYplorer_2.exe and for such tricky case it is necessary that XYplorer_2.exe works in conjunction with XYcopy_2.exe
Perhaps such a "primitive" way is a good alternative.
I want to know what thinks Don.

Why XYplorer_2.exe? It's not needed.

How to run another XY instance (while it running), if XY does not have an option "Configuration > Startup & Exit > Open new instance always" ?
Ok, I have found:
::run """<xy>"" /new";
