customizable Toolbar

I was thinking this a reasonable wish and checked to see the past wishes and found that Jacky had already suggested a similar thing back 14 May.
I am predominately a mouse user and as such like the ability to add just a few special operands to the toolbar of my liking. I accept that a full blown affair like the Keyboard Short Cuts is not ideal and a lot of work for little gain.
What I am suggesting is that there be say up to 4 icons (U1,U2....) which can be used and positioned on the Toolbar. To assign a function to each would require that either an existing or new Keyboard Short Cut exists. Thus in making this work the Toolbar icon is 'associated' with a KSC and when clicked it emulates the KSC.
The reason for just 4 icons is that this is for simplicity and convenience and not to over clutter the Toolbar plus making it easy for the user to associate the Icon with his chosen task. It is similar in concept to the use of Fn keys but there for the mouse addicts.
